Juventus’ Emre Can ‘shocked’ at Champions League omission

Juventus midfielder Emre May states he is”shocked” at being left out of this club’s Champions League squad and has suggested he will try to find a move away in the Italian champions in January.
Can made 37 appearances for Juventus last season after joining on a free transfer from Liverpool, but also has discovered his opportunities restricted following the coming of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot summer time.
This is a surprise omission from the club’s 22-man squad for the Champions League this season and the German says he would have pushed away from the club for a transfer had he known he’d be left outside by Maurizio Sarri.
“I’m not in the squad for the Champions League which really shocked me because I was promised otherwise last week,” Can told Sky in Germany.
“Hence I would not have remained at Juventus, because it was the main condition for me to be a part of the Champions League squad.
“It’s a profound shock for me and I cannot understand it. Last year I played from the Champions League. There hasn’t been any explanation however.
“Juventus called me yesterday, the telephone call was one minute and they told me”You aren’t in the group.
“I must play from the Champions League, I want to play in the Champions League. When I am back, I’ll talk to the club and then we will see what happens.”
